Minimum age - Age limit to get your boating license. There is no minimum age to take the exam to obtain the pleasure craft operator card (PCOC). But even in a possession of the boating licence, some restrictions apply. Youth under 16 years of age may not operate boats with motors over certain horsepower limits unless someone 16 years of age or older is in the boat and directly supervising them.

Yes, you must have your boating license on board the boat at all times. If you are stopped by a law enforcement officer, you must present your boating license and an identity card, as there isn't a photo on the license. These rules apply to: Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia, Quebec, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Prince Edward Island and NorthWest Territories.
