The 'Rapture' and the 'Tribulation are both theological inventions of John Nelson Darby, founder of the Plymouth Brethren, in the nineteenth-century. Barbara R. Rossing (The Rapture Exposed) says that Darby's new teaching was that Christ would return twice, first in secret to "Rapture" Christians out of the world and up to heaven, then a second time after seven years of global tribulation for non-believers, to establish a Jerusalem-based kingdom on earth. The usual position of proponents of the Rapture is that children below the age of accountability will be taken up in the rapture. However, some of these proponents, finding what they felt were flaws in his scheme, opted for a post-tribulation Rapture, in which case children will experience the Tribulation. When defining his theology of the rapture, Darby avoided predicting a specific date for Christ's return, instead inventing "dispensations" - intervals of time ordering God's grand timetable for world events. The children alive in 1830, when the Rapture theology was created, or at any time up to the present, were not taken up simply because the Rapture has not yet happened. It may not happen for centuries or even thousands of years to come. More realistically, it will never happen.Rossing says that according to one critic, the Rapture has its origins with a young girl's vision. In 1830, in Port Glasgow, Scotland, fifteen-year-old Margaret MacDonald attended a healing service, where she was said to have seen a vision of a two-stage return of Jesus Christ. The story of her vision was adopted and amplified by Darby. There is no good reason to believe there will ever be a Tribulation as described by Darby and his followers or that the events he portrayed will ever occur. John Nelson Darby has sunk into obscurity, apart from his followers in the Plymouth Brethren, and so should his theology.

The Bible does not specifically say what will happen to babies, infants, and children when the rapture occurs. This causes many Christians to worry that they will be taken in the rapture, and their young children will be left behind to face the terrible tribulation.

A. I haven’t found anything to suggest that there would be no children born during the 70th Week of Daniel. In fact, Jesus spoke about the difficulty pregnant women and nursing mothers would have in fleeing from the anti-Christ at the beginning of the Great Tribulation, which is the last half of the 70th Week.Matt. 24:19

Will children be born during the tribulation? What will happen to these children? What does the Bible say? I am the mother of three children, twin boys of 7 years and a daughter of 9 years. My daughter is saved but I know my boys do not really understand.

Any unregenerate children, who are old enough to have made that decision, and I don’t know where that age level is, but God does, will be left as any one else would who refused Christ, hopefully to open their heart to Christ in the great revival that occurs during the tribulation recorded in Revelation 7 and chapter 14 as well.

The greatest number of children born during the Millennium will evidently come from believing Gentiles who blessed believing Israel during the seven-year Tribulation. These Gentiles are described in Matthew 25:31-40 (which read in your Bible). Furthermore, there are a number of believing Jews who will not die during the seven-year Tribulation.

Very few authors, especially Post-Tribulation advocates, except those teaching a Pre-tribulation Rapture, have rarely discussed children in their writings. Some authors hate the idea of the Rapture! This author believes that Jesus must come in a Pre-tribulation Rapture to rescue Christians and children from all of these dangers that are coming upon the Earth during the Great Tribulation.

Jesus issues a special “woe” for the parents of children in the time of tribulation. But, the Lord specifically gives two ages of children, here: 1) children who are nursing, and 2) children still in the womb. There is absolutely no mention of older children. These children will be those born AFTER the Rapture.

In Matt. 24:15 the Lord gave His disciples the sign that would tell the world the Great Tribulation has begun. When that happens the rapture of the Church will have already taken place. Therefore, in Matt. 24:19 He was speaking about women who have become pregnant after the rapture or who have children born after the rapture.

According to biblical prophecy, the Tribulation is a seven-year period that will begin immediately following the Rapture. Evil will spread without restraint. The diseases, natural disasters, wars, and devastation we see in our world today are but a taste of the atrocities to come. Toward the end, the Antichrist will sit at the center of the Tribulation’s evil as he personifies Satan. There is ...

Tribulation has been and will be the lot of all who truly follow Christ. Some interpreters, however, argue that although all Christians go through some tribulation, there is yet a "great tribulation" to come that true believers will not have to endure. Let us examine the expression "great tribulation" which occurs first in Matthew 24:21 ...
