His involvement meant that there would surely be some part of the movie that I enjoyed…turned out there was a lot more! So Children of the Corn 3: Urban Harvest begins with the death of Eli & Joshua’s father. He dies at the hands of He Who Walks Behind the Rows who Eli has summoned to stop him abusing Joshua. It’s nasty!

“Children of the Corn” is maybe the most iconic of rural horror movies. Based off the King short story of the same name, it tells the tale of a bunch of crazed children in a Nebraska corn town who rise up and kill all the adults under the direction of a child preacher named Isaac. They worship an evil Corn God called He Who Walks Behind the Rows.

One thing you might turn to the story for is some explanation of how the children have managed to stay hidden away in the town of Gatlin for three years. Presumably they are harvesting all that corn themselves. And turning it into ethanol. Meanwhile, just by changing some road signs the town has vanished so completely that nobody can find it.

This Children of the Corn movie doesen't follow the storylines of the previous ones in any way really. The story involves a wrongfully murdered preacher whose spirit returns to inhabit a small town's children. Then the children go on a killing spree of course. This movie is easily forgotten just like its plot.

Children of the Corn. Released: March 9, 1984. Since the dawn of cinema, filmmakers have strived to convey the important truth about kids, which is that they’re evil and should not be trusted. Yes, “children are our future,” as the great prophetess Whitney taught us many years ago.
