These conditions have many of the same symptoms and are believed to have some shared underpinnings as well. Pain and fatigue are primary symptoms of both RA and FMS, which can make it hard for doctors to tell them apart. When you have both, diagnosis becomes even harder.

YES! All of them hurt, a lot! Rheumatologists have found that feeling pain in at least 11 of the 18 trigger pressure points could be cause for a fibromyalgia diagnosis. Below I share my experience with each point and what I do to manage the agony, starting from the bottom, up.

I have had some friends who were miffed at me, thinking I was lying about typing being less exhausting then talking on the phone – hard to explain if you don’t have it I suppose. Hurts that loved ones can’t automatically believe you when you have never lied before and don’t want to discourage friendship.

This can be particularly helpful for claims for fibromyalgia veterans benefits since fibromyalgia is characterized by body-wide pain or pain sensitivity. Even without a diagnosis of fibromyalgia, a veteran should be able to obtain a disability rating based on the body regions and systems that are so affected by pain that it impairs the function of the body region or system.

You can get secondary fibro realted to an inflammatory condition like lupus or RA or other auto immune problem. It does cause nerve pain. I have it all over. I have the exact same sciatic pain you describe and my back is normal on MRI. You could have a bulging or degenerative disk causing the problem.
